Nova Scotians have an opportunity to honour people who have put themselves at risk to help others by nominating them for the Medal of Bravery.

Nominations for the award opened today, January 18.

“Each year, there are countless situations where heroic Nova Scotians selflessly help those in need, often in dangerous circumstances, putting their own personal safety at risk,” said Premier Tim Houston. “This award is our way of thanking them for their courageous actions. I strongly encourage you to nominate someone you know who didn’t hesitate to step up and act bravely.”

Nomination forms are available at Access Nova Scotia centres, MLA offices and at: https://novascotia.ca/govt/bravery/pub/nova-scotia-bravery-award-nomination-form.pdf

The deadline for nominations is May 1.
