As the days grow closer to the weekend, Hurricane Lee inches its way closer to our Province.

Hurricane Lee, as of the morning of September 13th, is a category 3 hurricane. Category 3 hurricanes are categorized as a major hurricane with winds between 178-208 kilometres per hour.

There is still some uncertainty about the hurricanes exact path, but there is now no doubt that Lee will impact the Maritimes.

Lee is beginning to weaken but is expected to hit the Maritimes on Saturday as a Category 1 hurricane. A weather watch may be issued later today, as Bermuda is preparing to ride out the high winds starting tonight and into early Thursday morning.

When a hurricane hits, it can affect the community at large. It is always smart and safe to have a kit ready and prepare yourself and your home for the storm.
