Cumberland County District RCMP arrest a man and a woman for robbery and theft of motor vehicles that occurred in Port Phillip, Wentworth and Wallace Ridge.

On January 16, at approximately 3 a.m., Cumberland County District RCMP responded to a report of a robbery and theft of a motor vehicle. RCMP officers learned that a male, known from the victim, attended the victim’s residence, forced his way inside, punched the 67-year-old man before stealing his vehicle, a blue Mazda CX-9.

The vehicle was abandoned shortly after it ran out of gas. The suspect then met with an accomplice where they proceeded to steal a second vehicle, a grey GMC Sierra, out of a driveway in Wentworth. The pair drove away and later crashed the vehicle.

The duo continued their rampage and stole a third vehicle, a blue Ford Transit, out of a driveway in Wallace Ridge. The suspects crashed the van before being picked up by a local resident and driven to a residence on Lake Rd. in Wentworth.

The next day, RCMP officers attended the residence in Wentworth and safely arrested a man and a woman involved in the incidents.

Brandon Polley, 26, from Port Phillip, has been charged with:

• Breaking and Entering into a Residence with Intent
• Robbery
• Assault
• Theft of Motor Vehicle (two counts)
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 (two counts)
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 (two counts)

Polley appeared in court and was remanded into custody. He will return in Amherst Provincial Court on January 22, 2024, at 11 a.m.

The 20-year-old Wentworth woman will be facing charges of:

• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 (two counts);
• Theft of Motor Vehicle (two counts);

The woman was release on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Amherst Provincial Court on March 11, 2024.
