Halifax Regional Police have laid charges in relation to an assault that occurred at a school in Bedford last year.
On October 19, at approximately 12:50 p.m. police we were called to a disturbance at Rocky Lake Jr. High located at 670 Rocky Lake Road. A youth was assaulted by another youth, who was known to them, with a rock. The victim fled to the front lobby of the nearby school. A vehicle with four adults, known to the suspect, pulled into the school parking lot at a high rate of speed. The adults from the vehicle, along with the suspect and other youths, entered the school, confronted the victim again and assaulted them. One of the adults threatened school staff who were attempting to intervene.
Police removed the suspects from the school and commenced an investigation. We are working closely with school officials and the incident remains under investigation at this time.
Yesterday officers charged one of the youths and three adults involved in the incident.
A 17-year-old youth has been charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and assault.
A 38-year-old man has been charged with:
- Dangerous operation of a vehicle
- Assault
- Uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death
- Causing a Disturbance
- Mischief
An 18-year-old man has been charged with assault, causing a disturbance, and mischief and a 36-year-old woman has been charged with mischief and causing a disturbance.
