DESCRIPTION:The 2024 season of "Summer Sounds at Barrington" kicks off this month. Each event is FREE\, and will take place every Tuesday from 12:15pm - 1:00pm at the St Matthews United Church\, 1479 Barrington Street\, Halifax. The eclectic lunch hour concert series features a wide range of artists.\nThe line-up is as follows:\nJuly 9th - Rhapsody Quintet with a delightful program\, including an ABBA medley arranged especially for the artists.\nJuly 16th - Margaret\, Champion\, Rick Gunn and Scott Taylor and friends enjoy an easy listening program that audiences thoroughly enjoy each year.\nJuly 23rd - HaliVox - a vocal quintet with John Lindsay Botten and singers.\nJuly 30th - Atlantic Sound Machine - a local Jazz/Swing band conducted by Stephanie McKeown.\nAugust 6th - Xaver Varnus\, organ and Zoltan Schwartz\, violin\nAdmission is free\, with all donations being gratefully accepted. The night will also honour the recently retired Seaside FM broadcaster's Rodger Ledrew and Martin Usher\, and the years they have added their voices and remarkable programming to the airwaves.\nThis memorable production will be brought to you with the collaboration of Oakwood Terrace and 105.9 Seaside FM. The first show takes place on Tuesday\, August 20th at 7:00pm\, while the second show takes place the following night\, Wednesday\, August 21st at 7:00pm.
